I was thinking about my theme, how pieces could relate to it, and more specifically, what aspects of pieces that I would produce in the future could tie to the theme. In AP art, my concentration is centered around the idea of constraint, and I have decided that I want pieces mirroring 3 different aspects of constraint: physical constraint, mental constraint, and self constraint. Just like how I kind of categorized my concentration into different components, I want to do the same with my theme of identity.
I’m not sure exactly which aspects of identity I want to place an emphasis on and kind of separate, but I think I do want to do personal identity (which could be split up even more into subcategories such as cultural identity, identity based on my interests and what I like, etc.) and just the idea of identity in general. The general aspect is definitely more open, and leaves more room to experiment around whereas the other aspect would be more personal and specific.
